so it's the 8th day of baby c's life, and time to head to the doctor's for our first appointment. we had to get organized this morning for the first time and we were all a little sleepy.
we got to the appointment almost on time... maybe 10 minutes late. not bad. but baby c didn't particularly like being poked and prodded, but he managed through the eye, ear, weight, length and full body once over.current stats:
weight - 7 lbs 4 ozs; this is not a typo, he has gained almost a pound in a week. he's a great eater, which also means he's a great pooper. funny thing too, this was the exact size his mommy was when she was born!!!
length - 18 inches long; we're thinking the shrinking has to do with the cone head rounding back out nicely
our nurse practitioner said that he is a healthy little baby boy and she gave us a few tips. she mentioned that he may get colicky in a few weeks (yikes), but we'll just have to see how things go. next week we go back for another baby boy procedure. and his mommy is NOT looking forward to that. i may have to step out of the room.
after our visit to the doctor, we headed up to see ggma and ggpa for a little while. it was a very good visit, and i felt like we connected with gpa/ggpa in a way that i have never before. it was so sweet and beautiful. the picture below... is the meeting of 8 days and 98 years and 6 months. pretty incredible!!!
but the day's activities really wore us out. i LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how sweet this picture is. he put his arms up like that himself...
