the daily routine

so the baby counter - the malfunctioning baby clock ticker that kept resetting every time i tried to update it - has been switched out. (side note to all you bloggers out there, not only will i be asking new mommy questions... but the new blogger questions are not far behind). but the old ticker said we have 214 days to go. 214 DAYS sounds like forever during the early days... because when i said that the last few weeks have been "fairly easy"... it's all very relative. but at least every day for the past 6 weeks has been about the same.

check the schedule:

6:30am - alarm goes off, i roll over, and hit snooze. i NEVER used to do this before.

6:37am - yes, for some reason my alarm clock goes off in 7 minute increments. strange i know... but it goes off again, and i flick the switch to just turn the whole thing off.

6:51... 6:52... 7am - i scrape myself off the mattress around this time each morning, only to make a bee-line for the fridge.

7:01-7:10am - i devour anything that will make the hunger stop. apples, sometimes two at a time (uj and ac - those apples were SO good, thank you); banana muffins that i baked this weekend; toast; bagels and cream cheese... basically anything available that doesn't require cooking.

7:45am - the time i usually make it out the door these days. flat shoes, back pack on and gearing up for the 3/4 mile walk to BART.

the BART ride has only been slightly problematic so far, but the thing about leaving the house about 45 minutes later than usual is that the trains between 8-
8:30am are jam packed. and this is fine for now, but i'm thinking about how i'm going to feel in 5 months (much larger) and wondering if someone would actually give up their seat for me. are pregnant ladies protected under the law?

9:30am - the time i usually eat what i brought for lunch for the day. did i mention the constant hunger?

11:30am - another snack

2pm - food anyone? you see the pattern... except, this is about the time when the queasiness really starts to kick in for me. from now until about 5:30pm. at least it's predictable.

6:30pm - the time i usually leave work. lately it's been darker outside, so i think this is going to have to change... and i keep missing the company shuttle, but that's ok because it forces me to walk the 1+ mile to BART to get the excercise i didn't get in the morning because i was too tired to wake up.

7:30pm - dinner time... the final meal of the day... i think?

9pm - lights out, game over, call it a day

exciting isn't it? don't worry, i won't bore you with the routine again tomorrow. oh, and your reward for getting all the way to the bottom...

pre-baby vegas fun...

still acting like kids ourselves...

but trying to get in as much practice as possible...

thx for letting us borrow the baby!

my first post

ok, here we go...

so by now you've probably heard our good news. and if not, we apologize for missing out on being able to tell you live and in color. but blogs ARE a pretty cool way to share news (s - thanks for popularizing this in the family :)!).

our first OB appointment was on september 25, 2008 - officially "auntie di's birthday"; and our little baby is growing nicely, a full 22mm and approximately 9 weeks old. the books we are reading keep telling us to compare the size of our baby to food... "today, your baby is the size of a sesame seed, a kidney bean... " and right now we're working our way up to a kumquat (wk 10).

the first 8 weeks were fairly easy, but then i caught a cold and the misery started. but we'll leave that in the past, because im 99% recovered and all is well in the world again. my cousin, t, let me borrow this really cool motion sickness bracelet that sends small impulses through my wrist to help with the queasiness. so far, so good.

i'm fairly close to my word quota for the day, so i'll leave you with some images of a. di's birthday celebration. enjoy!

the birthday girl!
