first sand...

i can't think of a better way to experience your first sand... on the shores of maui! note that in the first couple pictures, he was too busy pulling off his hat... to realize the sand around him.

and the tent we borrowed from auntie t was GREAT! thank you so much for letting us borrow it.

we had a wonderful time in maui... thanks to our parents and the generosity of auntie t and auntie r... there are many more photos to come from our trip, along with dialogue i am too tired to write tonight...

week 40... 9 months!!!

we dedicate this child...

last sunday, january 17th... we dedicated chase at our church. it's similar to a baptism or a christening, but without the water. the sentiment is that as his parents, we commit to raise him in a godly way - giving the best home, school and church that we are capable of. it's a tall order, so we're thankful for all the help that we have from our family and friends.

thank you to everyone who shared in this special day with us.

and it wouldn't be a celebration without a meal... thank you grandma m and grandpa c for the lovely lunch!

this was a couple of weeks ago now. he's gotten up to at least 5 or 6 seconds in the last few days.

he's still working on it... three months makes a huge difference in baby development.

they say that children under 2 years of age don't quite understand interaction and engagement the same way we learn to after the age of 2... but baby chase has a special love for cousin l. he has such a good time hanging out and playing with her... and he just wants to do everything she's doing!

pretty cool.

oh, not to mention they both have a "thing" for the cookies on this table. come check it out when you have a chance. you may leave our house singing a different tune.
