week 32

how 'bout them apples?

i am thankful.

it's the saturday after thanksgiving 2009, and it's quiet now.  but it certainly was a whirlwind these past few days.  and i have to say that chase was incredible... aside from needing a few extra minutes in the evenings to wind down and get settled for bed, i'd have to say that overall he handled all of the people, excitement and activity with flying colors.

i'm thankful for my family... immediate and extended... and the special friends that i call family too.  i'm thankful for my husband, my son, and the good time that we've had this past week to really bond, communicate and come together.  life always has a way of throwing a few curve balls at you, but this week really helped me appreciate all of the many blessings in my life and the things that are the most important to us. 

there are some things that i have struggled with since chase was born - some expected, some not so much.  but if i really take the time to reflect on my life and where i am today... i really am very thankful.  and more than anything else, i can be thankful to have a God that knows far more than i will ever know or understand and who sees a pathway for me that i can't even begin to comprehend.  i've been reminded in these past few weeks that life is precious, and often times unexpected.  so... it's important to take a moment and just appreciate life as it is... whether it is exactly how you expected it to turn out or it's completely the opposite.

to my love, my husband and my best friend

hard to believe it's been three years since we were married. and in these past three years, we have cram packed them with more life change than we have experienced separately in 70+ years of life (don't try to divide this number between us).

- we met (ok, that was more than three years ago, but life changing for sure)

- we got married

- we moved in

- we moved out

- we were expecting

- we bought a house together

- we had a baby

- we bought a car

and those are just the big things. we've had the day to day things too. and because of all of these things, the love... the love has just grown deeper.

i love you p, and i look forward to MANY, MANY more.

week 31

i had to... the curl had a mind of it's own, and he was beginning to pull his bangs...

so the scissors came out... november 12, 2009.

seven months

on the move...

this was with a little encouragement... but really, it's going to be any day now. watch out world... watch out mom and dad!

to this? i can't believe it's almost been seven months... the seven most sleepless, but amazing months of our lives.

fortunately, this was last week... this week, not so much.

lil' monster... or, just released baby inmate...

he went from tired eyes... to happy in a

matter of seconds...

he does that some times.

but with happy... who can complain :)

more from uncle dd's birthday dinner...

we dropped chase off at the grandparents' and went out for a grown up dinner.  it was fun... great food, good company... and something wonderful to celebrate.
