what's going on at 13 months?

time for a run down of our current milestones. i'm sure there are so many things i'm forgetting, but at least this'll be a small snapshot in time!

physically - he can climb up and down the stairs on his own, he's getting really good at sitting at the little table we have in the kitchen, he's dancing and singing up a storm, and he's taking small steps down on his own. he's doing a jumping motion, although we know it will be some time before he can actually "lift off". and last week he actually caught a large sized ball when p bounced it over to him. he's also pretty good at getting dressed and undressed these days - arms into his shirt and feet into his shoes. oh, and don't forget to ask him for a kiss when you see him. it's more like open mouth, CPR!


vocab - can speak "mama", "dada", "bubba", "popo"... the rest, he's still just calling "bababa". the new thing these days is his ability to sign. he was signing "more" for both more and please. but something clicked over the weekend and he's now signing "more" and "please", along with "all gone" and "ceiling fan". please is pretty funny... it looks more like a two handed belly rub. i'll get it on video soon. he also waves bye bye and blows kisses :).

feeding - he's masted finger feeding himself, now we're working on a bowl and spoon and he's pretty good at eating out of the snack cup, although if you put too many things in the snack cup at once... he tries to stuff them all in his mouth at the same time.

identification - he's pretty good at identifying things and people, as well as being able to put things together as evidenced by the picture below (keys go in the door)
